About Jeff Foxworthy
Jeff Foxworthy is one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country. A true jack-of-all-trades, Foxworthy has found significant success in television, film, recorded comedy and literature.
His act goes well beyond his famed "redneck" jokes to explore the humor in everyday family interactions and human nature. In 2004, Foxworthy starred in and executive-produced the television series "Blue Collar TV," following the success of "Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie." "Foxworthy's Big Night Out," a 2006 sketch comedy series, gave him a new platform to showcase his all-American comedy. Foxworthy has also voiced roles in films such as "Racing Stripes" and "The Fox and the Hound 2."
In addition to his success in television and film, Foxworthy is the largest-selling comedy-recording artist in history. His albums "You Might Be A Redneck If..." and "Games Rednecks Play" have been RIAA-certified triple platinum. In 2000, the soundtrack for "Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie" was RIAA-certified gold, and his solo comedy CD "Have Your Loved Ones Spayed or Neutered" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard comedy charts. He has been nominated for a Grammy Award five times, including a 2006 nomination for "Blue Collar Comedy Tour: One for the Road." Foxworthy's talents also extend to the literary world.
He has had more than 22 books published, and in 2005 he penned "Jeff Foxworthy's Redneck Dictionary: Words You Thought You Knew the Meaning Of." The popular book ranked No. 2 on the New York Times Bestseller List, paving the way for two more editions. His children's book "Dirt On My Shirt" was released in 2008 and "Silly Street" has just been released this year.
Jeff hosts the hit television show, "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" His syndicated weekly radio show, "The Foxworthy Countdown" is carried in more than 220 markets across the United States.
Away from the spotlight, Foxworthy is a supporter of Duke University Children's Hospital in Durham, NC. With his help, the hospital, which specializes in treating children with cancer, has raised tens of millions of dollars over the past 10 years to help children and families in need.
